Radiation protection course for service technicians working on X-ray equipment

We look forward to being able to offer this course soon, developed specifically for service companies working with installation, operation, servicing, and consultancy within the X-ray field.

The course brings together the knowledge you, as a service technician, technical advisor, or radiation protection coordinator, need to work safely, correctly, and in a documented manner—and to engage professionally in dialogue with both authorities and customers.

The purpose is to strengthen your professional expertise through practice-oriented skills development.

Whether you are new or experienced, you already have solid knowledge. Nevertheless, we can almost guarantee that the course will provide new perspectives and a deeper understanding.

As a service technician, you are the company’s outward-facing representative with the customer, and you often act as both technician and advisor. This training will prepare you very well to communicate with your customers safely, professionally, and credibly.

Expected course content

  • Basic radiation physics with a focus on X-ray radiation
  • Digital X-ray technology
  • Image quality and image processing (contrast, noise, SNR, CNR, MTF, DQE, etc.) as well as an introduction to post-processing techniques (LUT curves, edge enhancement, smoothing, histogram stretching, and dead-pixel correction, etc.)
  • Methods for optimizing image quality
  • How to carry out a good safety assessment
  • Radiological inspection, acceptance testing, status inspection.
  • Shielding calculations and good design of X-ray rooms/areas
  • Measuring instruments

  • The dose concept, dose limits, and dose constraints
  • Radiation injuries, radiobiology, and risks
  • Practical radiation protection, inverse square law, and similar

In short: After the course, you will have gained knowledge of all the most important aspects of imaging, radiation protection, and quality assurance. You can take this knowledge back with you and apply it directly in practice in your company.
